Join local singer-songwriter Sean Kiely each Third Thursday for a NICE night of unexpected variety, music, fun, & feelings. Every month will feature a set of music by a guest artist, a performance by an artist from another medium (comedy, poetry, or more), and a set of music by Sean and his collaborators. Who knows who might show up to sit in.
Sean Kiely is one of Jersey City’s most exciting and original singer-songwriters. His music contemplates the world with a keen eye and an ear for unusual and compelling beauty. He has released several acclaimed recordings under his own name, in addition to being an in-demand guitarist and singer on the local bluegrass scene and producer for other artists. He is often joined on stage by the area’s finest progressive folk-leaning musicians. David Crosby once said of his 2018 EP It Sure Was Good: “Fascinating music ... Very unusual, which of course I like.”
Kayt Hester is a comedian and artist once described as “sweet, beautiful, trash.” In addition to keeping a busy comedy schedule, Kayt is a visual artist who works with hand-torn masking tape. Her work has been featured extensively in live shows by the legendary band Pixies.
Long Neck is the project of Jersey City singer-songwriter Lily Mastrodimos. Their 2020 full-length record "World’s Strongest Dog" showcases the band’s perfectionist mentality. Recorded with engineer and producer Tom Beaujour (who also worked with the band on their debut) at Kaleidoscope Sound in Union City, New Jersey, they fine tuned guitar and bass tones, experimented with Beaujour’s pedal collection, boosted the amount of overdubs and guitar solos, and worked together to create a truly stellar follow-up that is full of new and intriguing growth for Long Neck.
