A Nice Night with Sean Kiely & Friends

Join local singer-songwriter Sean Kiely each Third Thursday for a NICE night of unexpected variety, music, fun, & feelings. Every month will feature a set of music by a guest artist, a performance by an artist from another medium (comedy, poetry, or more), and a set of music by Sean and his collaborators. Who knows who might show up to sit in.

Sean Kiely is one of Jersey City’s most exciting and original singer-songwriters. His music contemplates the world with a keen eye and an ear for unusual and compelling beauty. He has released several acclaimed recordings under his own name, in addition to being an in-demand guitarist and singer on the local bluegrass scene and producer for other artists. He is often joined on stage by the area’s finest progressive folk-leaning musicians. David Crosby once said of his 2018 EP It Sure Was Good: “Fascinating music ... Nick Fierro is a New Jersey–based comedian, writer, actor, voice-over artist, and grave digger. He has appeared at Toronto Sketchfest, and the Garden State Comedy Festival. Nick produced and performed on WFMU’s Prove it All Night and Redundancy Radio, and was a regular contributor on In Real Life. He has been seen on Manhattan Neighborhood Network’s The Special without Brett Davis, as well as The Best Show with Tom Sharpling. He recently appeared on Dan McNamara’s Wish Weasel, and a really long time ago he was an extra in the blockbuster hit School of Rock. Nick performs all over the New York metropolitan area with zero concern for his personal well-being or financial future. Nick has never failed at locating the source of a smell, and is pretty good at catching rats. He is left handed and needs help logging on to his email.

Ari Crystal-Ornelas writes and plays music as A Crystal O. The Jersey City artist and multi-instrumentalist has released several albums of original songs, both with live bands and alone playing all backing tracks. On this Nice Night you will find him playing the acoustic guitar and singing for your listening pleasure. Fans of Mascis/Malkmus/Mould may find particular enjoyment.
