Songwriter, guitarist & singer Sid Whelan along with bassist Trevor Bridgewater and drummer Robert Weiss return to Fox&Crow for the first time since a covid-induced hiatus, to perform such crowd favorites such as One More Cup o’ Joe, Midnight in the Country and Too Cold Ohio Blues, as well a crop of new songs that the JC fans haven’t sung along to yet, but soon will! Sid, both solo and with the band, are veterans of the JC music scene, including Spaghetti Sessions, Friggin’ Fabulous showcases and shows at the late lamented FM Bar as well as Corkscrew, White Eagle Hall, The Box and various outdoor events. The band has released three self-produced albums and is currently working on albums four and five. Sid is also the lead guitarist with Nikki & The Skyrockets and has performed at Fox & Crow with Chrissy Roberts.
Nathan Xander writes songs that are steeped in the quiet, restrained tension of what Greil Marcus called the 'Old, Weird America'. His sixth album, Three Waltzes, is an acutely perceptive look at life’s transitional moments, capturing Xander and his band amid pivotal changes—a new lineup, Xander’s quitting alcohol, and the pandemic’s impact on musicians everywhere. With musical sensibilities inspired by latter-day Nick Lowe, Tom T. Hall, and Paul Westerberg, Xander sorts through loss and evolving identity as he stands on the threshold of a new era in his own career.
