Sophie Buskin grew up surrounded by music in the heart of New York City. Though she’s been in the jingle studio since age 4, she has just begun her songwriting and performing journey within the past few years. When she’s not performing on her own, she plays with her father, David Buskin, in a duo mysteriously called BUSKIN. She is currently working on her first solo album which is expected out in November 2018.
“... Kirsten Maxwell’s clear soprano rings out in a way that would make Judy Collins and Joan Baez approve. She backs that up with skillful guitar playing and a growing collection of well-crafted songs. It’s exciting to imagine what the future holds for her. ”
— John Platt, "Sunday Supper" WFUV
Kirsten Maxwell is a Long Island based singer/songwriter. She started writing songs in High School and performing regularly at open mics and small gigs in College. Since then, Kirsten has committed to a life of music full-time. Without the help of label, agent, or manager, she has toured extensively in the U.S., released one album and recorded an EP, won a number of songwriting competitions and performed at festivals on the East Coast and in Texas. Her grassroots following doubled in the past year and the expected release of her new self-titled EP has her fans on the edge of their seats. In December, Kirsten opened for rock icon Melissa Etheridge. She has also shared stages with Bill Staines, Michael Johnson, Slaid Cleaves, Vance Gilbert, and Nicole Atkins.
